You got a great deal of boat with 200 HP. However, it has a 20 inch lower unit. And your question is, “would you be able to lower the motor with the 20” lower unit to sit while the 25” lower unit sat before?”

Well, if you don’t want to tilt your motor, you could purchase the 90012 with 9”setback plate. The unit would set the motor back from the transom 9” and taper down 5-3/4. You would be able to tilt your motor some, but not all the way. When you want to come down with a motor, you will have this problem unless you set your motor back 20-26”.

This CMC 90012 jack plate for your boat has 1 ½ inches of adjustment at the marine transom and 1” of adjustment on the motor bracket. You can use this to give a total set back of 14.5” when used with the 65201 which has 5.5” set back. One of the CMC jack plates that are made of 6160 T6 extruded aluminium alloy. Rated for V-6 and smaller boat engine applications. Dimension from top of transom to top of motor side is 5 ¾ inches. This jack plate provides better fuel efficiency. When use it in a boat, the gauge indicates the presence or the quantity level of water in the sea. The measurement of water level is really important. It can help you identify what speed to maintain for your safety.

This pressure gauge is recommended on high performance applications when the motor is raised to extreme heights. This allow for constant monitoring of the cooling system.

Having trouble on how to install this ignition 113-1726 for your 3 cylinder OMC/Johnson Evinrude?
Read the procedure below:

1. Remove the old power pack cover.
2. Disconnect all wires from the old power pack.
3. Remove the old power pack and save the mounting bolts.
Check for DC voltage on the kill (stop) wire (usually Black/Yellow) with the key-switch in the on and off position. At no time should
you see over 2 volts DC on this wire as severe damage to the power pack can occur.
5. Install the new power pack using the original bolts.
6. Reconnect the wires according to the connection guide below (also located on the cover).
7. Install the new cover and gasket using the new screws included with the new pack.

How about for your 6 Cylinder Engine?
Here:

1. Remove the old power pack cover.
2. Disconnect all wires from the old power pack. Watch for the connections from the Timer Base to the pack.
3. Remove the old power pack and save the mounting bolts.
4. Check for DC voltage on the kill (stop) wire (usually Black/Yellow) with the key-switch in the on and off position. At no time should
you see over 2 volts DC on this wire as severe damage to the power pack can occur.
5. Install the new power pack using the original bolts.
6. Connect the stator, kill and coil wires to the new pack.
7. Connect the White Timer Base wire to the Black/White Terminal.
8. Connect the Blue Timer Base wire to the White/ Black Terminal for # 1.
9. Connect the Violet Timer Base wire to the White/ Black Terminal for # 2
10. Connect the Green Timer Base wire to the White/ Black Terminal for # 3.
11. Reconnect the wires according to the connection guide located on the cover.
12. Install the new cover and gasket using the new screws included with the new pack.

Trouble with your Oil warning module

To complete and run an outboard engine the oil warning module must be a part of it. And if you're not familiar with the oil warning module, it is a small black box on starboard side of outboard motor with 5 wires coming out of it. You will find it below the starter or the temperature sending unit back by the spark plugs.

If you experience an alarm sounds when you turned on your boat engine that means an oil warning module is defective. If the sounds continuously happen. Try using this simple troubleshooting:

1. Disconnect the two White/Blue sensor wires from the oil warning module and retest.
2. If the horn stops, the sensor in the oil tank is likely bad.
3. If the horn still sounds, disconnect the Tan wire from the module and see if the horn now stops sounding. If the warning horn sounds with the two White/Blue sensor wires disconnected, but stops when the Tan wire is disconnected, the oil warning module is defective.

One of our customers in Qormi, Malta, sent this picture and he said he needed a PL-65 Stainless Steel Jack plate for his boat. We were able to help this guy out because he needed the Jackplate quickly to get into a race. He has a 2005 MARINER 225 V6 OPTIMAX and is going to use it in open seas so he thought he should go a little more heavy duty and bought the PL-65SS.

Eddie wanted to have more setback for his motor so, he purchased another 5 inches vertical extension 50012 to give more 5 inches of lift to his motor.

He simply mount the 50012 to the Power-Lift as the numbers show. After mounting the 50012 to the Power-Lift, he will have to drill the bottom two holes of the motor (when mounted to the 50012) through the Power-Lift.

This is a PL-65 Hydraulic Jack Plate 65002 that provide 5 inches of vertical travel and 5 ½ inches of set back from the boat transom and made for V-6 and smaller outboard motor applications.

One of our customers uses this for his Rib craft 7.8 offshore RIB with 250 hp Suzuki (~270kg V-6). The inflatable would run best at 5.5" set-back with this engine.

This one is a PL-65 Stainless Steel Hydraulic Racing Jack Plate 65201 a stainless steel jack plate has 5 ½ inches of set back from the boat transom. It will lift a 300 HP V8's outboard motor and racing applications.

This can be used in Scorpion Rigid Inflatable Boat of 7.5 m with an Evinrude 250 DI from 2004 and was used by our customer.

This is a PL-65 High Speed Hydraulic Jack Plate 5 1/2" Set-Back 65302 gives 5 1/2 inches set back. There is a 1-1/2" adjustment at the transom (different hole it can be mounted), 1" on the motor side and at least 1-1/2" on the motor, then once mounted the 65302 will raise the motor 5".

This is a PL-65 10" Set-Back High Speed Hydraulic Jack Plate 61302 provides 10 inches of setback. Made for V-6 and smaller outboard motor applications.

One of the motors uses for this is mercury 225 Pro xs.

2 Piece Manual Jack Plate 40012 provides 4" of set back from the boat transom. The 40012 has 3-sets of mounting holes on the transom side of the unit so you will have 1-1/2" of adjustment up or down at the transom. Generally the top of the transom side would be mounted even with the top of the transom of the boat. Once all is mounted you have 5" of adjustment up.

Do you know what is a manual jack plate?

A manual jack plate will set the motor back away from the transom 5 1/2 inch which will get your prop away from the boat in what is called "cleaner water". There is less water turbulence 5.5" farther aft than at your boat transom and the water goes under your transom, then sweeps up toward your prop. This will allow you to raise your motor on the average of 3" higher than you can at your transom and still have water pressure and a good "bite" with your prop. Also, the 5.5" set-back provides leverage to get the bow of you boat up with less trim allowing you to lift your motor higher. Less boat in the water and less engine lower unit in the water equates to more top end speed, better fuel economy and more prop clearance in shallow water.

If you do not want to spend the bucks for the hydraulic unit, you can get a manual jack plate for about 30% of the cost of the hydraulic unit. While it will not adjust engine height while on the water, it will allow you to fine tune to the most desirable engine height for your particular needs.
