Mercury Stator 174-3996

Your 1970 Mercury 7.5 HP needs to replace your old stator with new stator part no. 174-3996. This stator will replace part numbers 18-5855, 336-3692, 336-3996, 336-3996A7, 339-3962A4, 339-3996A4, 339-3996A6, 339-3996A7, 9-25501. Two insular blocks with part no. 994-3981 are included. Note that the insulator blocks included with this stator is important. You are strongly advised to install them and closely inspect the point wires for cracking or racing. This system operates at a much higher voltage than the normal systems and what would be acceptable on other systems will cause problems.

For technical information do not start and run engine on a flushing attachment or ear muffs and active the kill circuit.
